On Carolyn Elliott
Here’s a list of fun facts about me:
1. I’ve written a book called Awesome Your Life: The Antidote to Suffering Genius. You can grab your free copy here.
2. I believe we need to preserve the imaginal realm from the onslaught of the Nothing.
3. I wrote my dissertation on Poetic Inquiry.
4. I live in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
5. I spend a lot of time working on seeing the world through my heart rather than my head.
6. I’ve read libraries full of philosophy, literature, and metaphysics. Literally. Libraries.
7. I’m a organizer for Evolver.
8. As a child, I was consecrated as a priestess of Thoth. Just sayin’.
9. I really like Emerson, Kierkegaard, Heidegger and in a feisty mood, Nietzsche.
10. Also: Whitman, Dickinson, Neruda and Rilke.
11. I aspire to total unconditional love consciousness.
12. I try to eat in a nutritarian fashion.
13. I drink coffee to excess. Which is not nutritarian.
14. I’ve won awards for poetry, playwriting, fiction, essays, scholarships, tweets – just about every kind of writing.
15. I’m working on initiating myself as a shaman. It’s a pretty big project.
16. As a teenager, I celebrated Wiccan sabbats 8 times a year.
17. I battle with an intense desire for privacy versus a Lady Gaga-esque interest in fame.
18. I’m teaching a poetry class right now at the University of Pittsburgh.
19. I am very cuddly.
20. I had a peak experience when I was 17 which is still a spiritual touchstone for me.
21. My friend Tricia wrote the greatest kid’s book ever: YOU=LOVE.
22. I once had a dream that I broke open a giant amethyst geode and from it emerged a huge revolving lotus, and then atop of that, a huge revolving lily. A great Jungian counselor told me this means I’ll achieve self-realization in this life time. So I got that goin’ for me.
23. I really like to sing, and will do so without any provocation, at any time.
24. I love to throw consciousness parties.
25. I do counseling sessions which get rave reviews.
